continuing the tradition
Meet JoJo
Hi everyone!
My name is Joanne Contino, and I am the owner of Pasta by JoJo.
Before starting Pasta by JoJo and selling at local farmers' markets,
I worked at a fine dining restaurant located in Beaver Creek Ski Resort, Colorado. During my time there, I had the opportunity to work with some fantastic chefs, from whom I picked up various pasta techniques and recipes that I now bring to Myrtle Beach. I am passionate about pasta.

I am Italian American and have always had a passion for Italian home cooking. My best childhood memory is spending time in the kitchen with my grandmother, where she taught me how to cook.
Two years ago, when I worked at a ski resort in dining restaurants. I had a great experience working with real chefs. One of my favorite things I learned was to make pasta from scratch, just like my grandma. There is a saying: 'If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life.' So I put that saying to the test and started to pursue my passion for Italian cooking. And took what I learned and grew it. I purchased a pasta extruder machine and began selling pasta at the local farmers' market. I love it and have no regrets.
I started last summer, and as soon as I started, I found out I had cancer. So I had to stop. Now I am cancer-free. Thank you, Jesus, I'm back! I have a new appreciation of my adventure in pasta making. I could not be happier. I enjoy meeting people who share the same passion for Italian cooking, and I love hearing their stories of family experiences.
Now I am dedicated to continuing these traditions. It is different nowadays; perhaps families move away due to job changes or retirement. I have a desire to bring back the traditions.
Now I invite you all to join me in this journey of enjoying good food, and continue our family's traditions so they can be passed on to future generations. Let's not forget what gave us such great memories and shaped us into who we are today.
